Private: Invitation Only

Looking for a new addiction? I have found one for you in the Series titled Private. I just finished book two, Invitation Only and it was incredible. You may not know what your missing yet but oh you will soon.

Title: Invitation Only
Author: Kate Brian
Age: 14+
Rating: five of five

From the back:
Reed Brennan's future is looking as bright as the two-karat diamonds in her new housemates' ears. Being accepted to the most prestigious private boarding school in the country wasn't enough for Reed. She had to break every rule to do it, but she has accomplished the impossible:

Reed is a Billings Girl now.

And with her new status come respect, envy, and, most important, opportunity. Not to mention the parties. Unfortunately, at the next illicit party in the Easton campus woods, her roommate snaps some pictures of Reed in more than one compromising position. She uses the photos to blackmail Reed: Dig up dirt on the most powerful and popular Billings Girls or she will have Reed expelled.

And speaking of parties, the Legacy is coming up. It's the invitation-only Halloween party in NYC and it's rumored that Thomas -- Reed's MIA boyfriend -- will be making an appearance there. Too bad Reed isn't even close to invited.

Life as a Billings Girl is every bit as glamorous as Reed imagined. What she didn't bargain for is the tangled web of private lies these girls weave.

My thoughts:
I really enjoyed this novel. It had a sense of dark humor which is not always east to express. There are some mentions of sex so if you are a clean reader be for warned. Over all this was a quick read if you have time to read but I was finishing a book for school at the same time. I recommend this book to any Kate Brian fans along with girls who are up for a different type of book. You wont regret the time you spend reading it.

Book Of the Month for October: Living Dead Girl

Everywhere I turn someone is reading Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott. What is it about this novel that makes people addicted? For the next few days, till the end of this month we will take a close look.
Book stats:
Title: Living Dead Girl
Author: Elizabeth Scott
Suggested age: 14+(me) 16+(publishers)
rating: *****(5) out of *****(5)

No matter where you look online we hear of living dead girl. It has been called a book that demands to be talked about along with being called a book you will want to shred (but enjoy).
Maybe we can not enjoy this book in the usual la la la way but its horrid gripping details demand to learned. So the big question here is why would I recommend a book so nasty and full of hate? Because thats the thing.... It let us look so far into the characters minds you started to feel hypnotized, to beleive you were actually living the story.

I wanna know what you guys have to say. Let me know!

Ashley

If you are a author reading this and have any reviewer copies please email me at princessashley9@gmail.com or even if you'd like to do a guest review on my blog. I thought I'd talk about a few new things....

Guest Reviews: Every month or so I'd like to have someone (another reviewer) review a book of their choice. I would post their review on my blog, getting there blog some more publicity as well. If your interested email me.

Contests: I am going to try and have more contests. Authors wishing to donate a book please let me know.

Book of the month: Every month I will have a specific book that I will feature. Suggestions are welcome, comments appreciated.

Lastly, as some of you know I run a book club, teenswhoread.blogspot.com which is going pretty well. As we are reading a book I will post some stuff on here, that way there may be less spoilers for those of you who could not read it with us.

Does this book make me look fat?

With a title like Does this book make me look fat its bound to be a funny book. The book contains stories from many popular and some less popular authors about body image. It does not just address fat and skinny it gets the full picture. Big butt, no butt, big boobs, no boobs. Some of the short stories are fiction, others are real and personal. The authors get down to your level in a way most dont.

I want you to get up and go look in the mirror. What do you see? I bet you can find at least one thing about yourself you want to change. Dull hair or acne? Fat or skinny? After taking a good look you need to go read this book. Why you might ask? Because you are about to start a voyage of self discovery.

I really enjoyed most of this book. At times I would get bored because most the stories start out with such a negative body image. Over all though it made me feel more confident with my small body I was given.

Living Dead Girl

Every once in a while there is a book that makes you feel a way you'd never imagine feeling. Maybe from time to time we think of how horrid it would be to be kidnapped but not in the sense of it actually happening . For Alice thats not the case. She use to be a little girl, who loved dolphins and was happy to get her first lip gloss. She was growing up. Now growing up is a bad thing. Ever since she was kidnapped and forced to remain a little girl for him.

I really enjoyed this book. Not in the usual light hearted way, but in a way that grabs your heart and makes you wanna save her. There were times I wanted to cry and others I wanted to tear the book in half. The way this book is written is not for the faint of heart and not for less mature readers. Great job, Elizabeth Scott.

Confessions of a teen nanny

These books have been around a little bit but they are oh so delicious. For all those girls who enjoy a little catty drama and a novel where you just wanna slap that girl I recommend this. The girls in this book have you thinking that maybe the crap going on in your high school isn't so bad after all. Boyfriend stealer's, and stealing from your boss. This has got to end up bad....

Ashley

7th Heaven books

I love 7th heaven. I always have and always will. The novels have been written in a way for younger kids but I still love them. Everyone has those books that remind us of being little kids. I wanna encourage you all to read them. You like boxcar children? Then why be embarrassed, take it to school and read it. I bet some people will applaud you for being brave and the ones who act snooty probably just dont read.

Just some random thoughts,
Ashley
