Summary:
When Susan Tate's seventeen-year-old daughter, Lily, announces she is pregnant, Susan is stunned. A single mother, she has struggled to do everything right. She sees the pregnancy as an unimaginable tragedy for both Lily and herself.
Then comes word of two more pregnancies among high school juniors who happen to be Lily's best friends-and the town turns to talk of a pact. As fingers start pointing, the most ardent criticism is directed at Susan. As principal of the high school, she has always been held up as a role model of hard work and core values. Now her detractors accuse her of being a lax mother, perhaps not worthy of the job of shepherding impressionable students.
My Thoughts:
This was a really great book! I enjoyed all the characters. They each lived such different lives and handled the pregnancies in different ways. I loved seeing all of the different mother-daughter relationships and what the pregnancies did for them. The plot left no holes and kept the reader engaged. That made the book even more enjoyable. The setting was not common which I enjoy in a book. It makes everything seem more real.
The cover was gorgeous and made you want to dive in. As for the end, it was perfect! You couldn't have asked for a better ending. I recommend most teen girls and mothers get this book! I think it was amazing.

Summary:
Little princesses will love all the different elements in this enchanting Disney Princess novelty book. They can touch the smooth, soft, and bristly treasures Ariel discovers in the ocean, lift-the-flaps to see who’s attending Belle’s tea party, slide the windows to help Cinderella find her friends in a game of hide-and-seek, and much, much more! With five spreads full of exciting tactile components, readers will never tire of exploring all that this book has to offer!
My Thoughts:
Due to the fact this is such a short book my typical review is not the correct way to go. Instead I would just love to take a moment to let all mothers/babysitters/big sisters know that this book is a must for little girls. It is super cute and the fact that you have to interact with the book, not just read it is even better. I say, go buy a copy now!

"You are deluded, Romeo. Vampires do not have the capability to love. They are heartless."
The Capulets and the Montagues have some deep and essential differences. Blood differences. Of course, the Capulets can escape their vampire fate, and the Montagues can try not to kill their undead enemies. But at the end of the day, their blood feud is unstoppable. So it's really quite a problem when Juliet, a vampire-to-be, and Romeo, the human who should be hunting her, fall desperately in love. What they don't realize is how deadly their love will turn out to be—or what it will mean for their afterlives. . . .
This riotous twist on the ultimate tale of forbidden romance is simply to die for.
Why?
I have never read the actual Romeo and Juliet but this sounds much more interesting :)

Summary:
High atop Hathorne Hill, near Boston, sits Danvers State Hospital. Built in 1878 and closed in 1992, this abandoned mental institution is rumored to be the birthplace of the lobotomy. On the eve of the hospital’s demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about their experiences. For Derik, it’s an opportunity to win a filmmaking contest and save himself from a future of flipping burgers at his parents’ diner. For the others, it’s a chance to be on TV, or a night with no parents. But what starts as a dare quickly escalates into a nightmare. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room, they will unravel the mysteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might.
My Thoughts:
Be forewarned this review contains some vivid language…
To be honest I was pretty disappointed with this book. It took forever to even begin to interest me, and even once it did I still had pages after pages that were rather dull. I feel that this topic could have kicked some serious A-double star, but instead it barely fizzled.
The characters were annoying. They all made me want to rip my hair out, I only remember brief moments where I felt sorry for them but then they would be a**holes again and I would begin to hate them AGAIN. The plot left me wanting more details and a lot less set-up. It took way too long for the important part of the story to begin.
The setting was awesome, come on, a creepy old mental hospital is just great! That was probably the best part of the book along with when the author describes the scenery inside the hospital. The cover was okay. It could have been better but it wasn’t horrible. As for the end, well it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.
Overall, I would say if you can get past a lot of set-up to the story you may enjoy this book.

Summary:
Fifteen-year-old Matt Gratton and his two best friends, Coop and Sean, always set themselves a summertime goal. This year's? To see a real-live naked girl for the first time — quite a challenge, given that none of the guys has the nerve to even ask a girl out on a date. But catching a girl in the buff starts to look easy compared to Matt's other summertime aspiration: to swim the 100-yard butterfly (the hardest stroke known to God or man) as a way to impress Kelly West, the sizzling new star of the swim team. My Thoughts:
I usually can find no connection to a book from a male perspective but this was not one of those books! I enjoyed this book and actually found most of the humor funny. There were a few parts where I did get the “ew guys are nasty” feeling but not many. It was funny thinking about the fact the maybe guys are really making this their goal.
The characters were pleasant and enjoyable. I loved that about it. Towards the end I was so connected that I couldn’t put it down.
Yay, for an awesome book for both genders. Humor and romance is a plus. I cant wait for book two!

Themis Academy is a quiet boarding school with an exceptional student body that the administration trusts to always behave the honorable way--the Themis Way. This would seem like the opportunity of a lifetime, but Alexia’s mother has always warned her against celebrities.
Rebelliously, Alexia flies off to L.A. and gets immersed in a celebrity life. Not only does she have to get used to getting anything she wants, she romances the hottest lead singer on the charts, and finds out that her own father is a singing legend. Through it all, Alexia must stay true to herself, which is hard to do when you are pretending to be somebody else!
My Thoughts:
I had high expectations for this book and for the most part they got close. I think that because I am an avid reader of this type of YA book I know what is good, okay, and bad. If you are a fan of this type of book this can be classified between good and okay. This is however not the place to start “trying” girly books if that not your normal type.
The characters were extremely typical to this sort of story. One smart girl, one stupid celeb, add together and you get your LA story. Both girls were missing something, both found it. In that way you get the common plot. The LA setting is becoming too typical for books. Can’t we write one set in Boring, Oregon or Omaha or something authors?
I would recommend chicklit fans check this out.

Summary:
Inspired by her mother's poesiealbum (poetry album), which survived her childhood retreat from Nazi Germany, Levy has created a verse novel slim in length but long on beauty, power, and anguish. Jutta Salzberg lived a normal, happy life until 1938. Although Hitler's reign is in its infancy, Jewish Germans already face severe restrictions in their lives; segregated schools, shops, and curfews are already the norm, with stories of the public humiliation of elderly Jews and concentration camps to follow. This book is comprised of actual entries in the poesiealbum penned by Jutta's friends, interspersed with verses in 12-year-old Jutta's voice that respond to and even challenge the sentiments conveyed within each poem.
My Thoughts:
The aspect of this book that really disappointed me was the length. Since it was written in verse I really would have hoped for a lot more filling. It was more about her relationships with her friends than the holocaust. I think that for a book to accurately portray that time period it needs to focus on that aspect some.
I especially appreciated the end where the author mentioned all those in the book and what became of their life. There she mentioned some who were murdered at the hands of the Nazi’s yet they were only mentioned briefly during the book. If there had been more to the story it could have been an awesome book!

Summary:
Sisters Hope and Lizzie are also best friends; Lizzie, the elder sibling, has looked after Hope since she was an infant. When Lizzie suddenly becomes suicidal, though, Hope is bewildered, but she gradually realizes that she may have some insight into the roots of Lizzie's depression. Glimpses into her memories and her dreams unfold a story of neglect and abuse that will haunt both Hope and the reader alike.
My Thoughts:
This book was not as good as I expected to be honest. Usually I devour books written in verse as well as ones where a character suffers the trauma Lizzie does. I will not tell you what she faces but I will tell you it is flat out disgusting and may very well piss a few readers off. I don’t want to say I enjoyed that part of the book because that just sounds wrong. I will say that is what made me read it in the first place and what kept me reading.
The plot was gappy and predictable at times. I had figured out Lizzie’s problem long before Hope did. I know that the issues facing Lizzie were gruesome but they should have been addressed a bit more. I also feel that there should have been more focus on the suicide attempts, not just brief mentions.
The ending was okay but not really happy. It leaves you fearing for the girls again. This time it is for their emotional development. The situation they are left in seems bad but at least it is only a “temporary” kind of thing.
I recommend this to fans of abuse books. Readers looking for a passionate story of the bond between sisters will enjoy this!

Summary:
Heidi has the perfect solution to her popularity problems - a fake boyfriend. She's even made him an Internet profile that makes him look like a motorcycle-riding, poetry reading bad boy. *swoon* Heidi's friends are so impressed they start emailing Heidi's fake boyfriend with their problems . . . including their problems with Heidi.
As if that weren't bad enough, a delicious and possibly single person called "A Real Boy" emails Heidi to say he knows the truth. Can Heidi escape from her world wide web of lies? Or will her chance at romance disappear faster than you can type gtg?
My Thoughts:
There was just something about this book that I could not swallow. It was a good book BUT I did not like Heidi. She just bugs the heck out of me. How can you enjoy a book when you don’t like the main character? She just seemed very immature and kind of rude.
I liked the aspect of a “fake” boyfriend. It’s something one of my friends and I did in 6th grade. Maybe not with an online page but close enough. I feel that if Heidi had seemed more mature it would have added to the plot but because she was not it took away.
